Licensing · Custom Indices
The instruments Palanor builds.
Methodology-disclosed composite indices, computed daily against the lattice. Reference them in your research. Embed them in your client materials. Build your own derivative products on top. The way Bloomberg licenses the Magnificent 7, S&P licenses the 500, MSCI licenses World — except this catalog reads what the singular series cannot.
What you license
DAILY VALUE
The reading, every day.
Each licensed index is computed at 08:45 UTC against the trailing window. Delivered via the Palanor API under your contracted Bearer token; or pushed to S3 / SFTP / webhook on request.
METHODOLOGY
Full disclosure, contractually fenced.
Component list, weights, transforms, baseline window. The same methodology page palanor.com publishes — except you can reference it in your prospectus, your research note, your investor letter. The IP is licensable, not redistributable.
HISTORY
Backfilled to baseline.
Most Palanor indices carry 5-20 years of daily history. The Palanor Index, AI Margin Compression, Capital Tightness, Buffett, Rise of Socialism — full series shipped with the contract.
NAMED USE
Your prospectus says “Palanor.”
Reference the index by name in any institutional document. Cite the methodology page. The brand is the asset; the licensing contract grants you permission to lean on it.

Pricing
Annual, per-index, scope-aware.
Custom Indices licensing is annual, not metered. Each license carries a per-index annual fee scaled to four factors:
- How many indices are in the contract.
- Whether the use is internal research only — or whether the index name + values appear in client-facing materials (prospectus, marketing, derivative products).
- The size of the licensee’s book or distribution surface (AUM, seat count, retail audience size).
- Whether the contract is exclusive or non-exclusive on the methodology.
Typical contracts land in the $25K–$250K / year range, with derivative-product licenses (ETFs, structured notes, indexed funds) priced separately.
What we never license: redistribution of the underlying signal components as a standalone data feed, AI/ML training on Palanor-authored methodology, or rights to publish a re-named clone of an index. The brand + methodology page is the moat; the contract protects it.
